Bioveta is investing CZK 250 million in the renovation of a dilapidated castle in Ivanovice na Hané. The goal of the renovation is to make the castle grounds accessible to those interested in historical architecture and to transform it into a multicultural center with an adjacent park.
"We want to make the castle, which has a rich history and tradition, accessible to citizens not only from Ivanovice but from the entire Vyškov region, along with its almost ghostly legends," says Ing. Libor Bittner, CSc., Chairman of the Board of Bioveta, a.s.
History
The castle in Ivanovice na Hané is a late Renaissance castle located about 7 km northeast of Vyškov. The original water fortress was rebuilt in the early 17th century into its current form. The castle is a standalone four-winged two-story building with a regular square courtyard and arcaded galleries on three sides. After 1945, the castle became part of the Bioveta enterprise complex.
Present
From the unused building, Bioveta, a.s. has initiated a demanding reconstruction and repair of the complex valued at CZK 250 million. After restoring valuable elements, plastering, painting, and carpentry works have begun. The result will be a multicultural center, which will include a shortened tour route accessible to the public. The sensitive renovation will create new administrative spaces, and there are plans for apartment accommodations for the company needs. Visitors will also appreciate a new café with an outdoor terrace, park improvements, and a new greenhouse, which will include a wintering area for potted park palms. The project also considers wheelchair users, as the ground floor is planned to be barrier-free.
