The vaccine is intended for active immunisation of fattening pigs to attenuate the consequences of infection caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae – the cause of porcine pleuropneumonia.

Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae serovar 2                                         RP ≥ 1*

Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae serovars 9, 11                                  RP ≥ 1*

toxoid APX I                                                                                     RP ≥ 1*

toxoid APX II                                                                                    RP ≥ 1*

toxoid APX III                                                                                   RP ≥ 1*

 *RP = Relative efficacy (ELISA test) in comparison with the reference serum obtained after vaccination of mice with vaccine batch, which complied in the challenge test on the target animal species.

Adjuvant:

Oil emulsion 0.20 ml

Excipient:

Formaldehyde max. 1.0 mg, thiomersal  0.085 – 0.115 mg

Indications:

The vaccine is intended for active immunisation of fattening pigs to attenuate the consequences of infection caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae – the cause of porcine pleuropneumonia.
The onset of active immunity: 3 weeks after revaccination. The duration of immunity: 20 weeks after revaccination.

Contraindications:

Concurrent acute or pyrexial disease.

Adverse reactions:

Local reactions (swelling, induration) could develop with a diameter of 10 cm after the administration of the determined dose, which spontaneously subside within 3 to 14 days. Temporary elevation of body temperature by 1.0°C could occur in vaccinated animals.If you notice any serious effects or other effects not mentioned in this leaflet, please inform your veterinary surgeon.

Target species:

Pigs

Dosage for each species, route and method for administration:

Vaccination: Piglets from the age of 6 weeks are vaccinated with a dose of 1.0 ml. Revaccination is performed in 3 weeks with the same dose.

Administration route: Intramuscular, best to the paraauricular area.

Advice on correct administration:

Before use, the vaccine should be heated at room temperature 15 – 25°C and shaken.

Withdrawal period:

None

Special storage precautions:

Keep out of the reach and sight of children.Keep in a fridge (2-8°C).
Protect from frost..Do not use after expiry date stated on the label.

Shelf-life:

After first opening the container: 10 hours

Special warnings:

This product contains oil. Accidental injection/self injection may result in severe pain and swelling, particularly if injected into a join or finger, and in rare cases could result in the loss of the affected finger if prompt medical attention is not given.If you are accidentally injected with this product, seek promt medical advice even if only a very small amount is injected and take the package leaflet with you. If pain persists for more than 12 hours after medical examination, seek medical advice again.
No information is available on the safety and efficacy of this vaccine when used with any other veterinary medicinal product A decision to use this vaccine before or after any other veterinary medicinal product therefore needs to be decided on a case by case basis. Do not mix with any other veterinary medicinal product .Do not use during the pregnancy and lactation.
