Pharmaceutical form

Dry injection (lyophilized).

Composition

Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae attenuatum - min. 1 x 10⁷ CFU, max. 2,1 x 10⁸ CFU

Indication

Immunization of pigs against swine erysipelas.

Dosage, application and vaccination scheme

Subcutaneously: 2 ml

Intradermally: 0.1 ml or 0.2 ml (depending on the dissolution of the lyophilizate when intended for use in a needle-less applicator).

For the subcutaneous application of the vaccine the lyophilizate is re-hydrated with the full volume of the enclosed Diluent A.

For the intradermal application of the vaccine the lyophilizate is re-hydrated as follows:

20-ml packing (of the lyophilized constituent) diluted in 4 ml of Diluent A – the dose per 0.2 ml i.d. (i.e. 20 doses)

20 ml packing (of the lyophilized constituent) diluted in 2 ml of Diluent A – the dose per 0.1 ml i.d. (i.e. 20 doses)

100-ml packing (of the lyophilized constituent) diluted in 20 ml of Diluent A – the dose per 0.2 ml i.d. (i.e. 100 doses)

100-ml packing (of the lyophilized constituent) diluted in 10 ml of Diluent A – the dose per 0.1 ml i.d. (i.e. 100 doses)

Pigs intended for fattening:

- They should be vaccinated at the age between 8 weeks and 9 weeks (animals weighing 15 – 20 kg of body weight). The vaccine protects animals for the whole fattening period.

Pigs intended for breeding:

- Their primary vaccination should be performed at the age of 8 – 9 weeks (animals weighing 15 – 20 kg of body weight);

- Animals should be revaccinated at the age of 5 – 6 months;

- The revaccination should be repeated always at the period of 6 months.

The inactivated vaccine shall be applied when the primary vaccination is performed in animals which body weight exceeds 20 kg.

 

Sows shall not be vaccinated 2 weeks before and 4 weeks after the delivery.

Storage

Store in a dark and dry place at the temperature between 2 °C and 8 °C

Withdrawal period

Meat – 21 days.

Shelf life

2 years.

The vaccine shall be consumed within 3 hours after being dissolved.

1 x 20 ml (1 x 10 doses for s.c. application, 1 x 20 doses for i.d. application per 0.2 ml, 1 x 20 doses for i.d. application per 0.1 ml).

5 x 20 ml (5 x 10 doses for s.c. application, 5 x 20 doses for i.d. application per 0.2 ml, 5 x 20 doses for i.d. application per 0.1 ml).

1 x 100 ml (1 x 50 doses for s.c. application, 1 x 100 doses for i.d. application per 0.2 ml, 1 x 100 doses for i.d.  application per 0.1 ml).
