For immunization of piglets and sows in breeds so far free from or already suffering by pneumonia caused by: Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, Bordetella bronchiseptica.
The vaccine contains A. pleuropneumoniae, P. multocida, B. bronchiseptica bacterial antigens and Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae Apx I, Apx II and Apx III toxoids. Following parenteral administration, these antigens induce production of specific antibodies that protect the organism against actinobacillus pleuropneumonia and also provide protection against most frequent secondary bacterial pneumonic pathogens that aggravate clinical course of the disease.
Newborn piglets from vaccinated sows receive passive protection against pneumonia by colostral immunity for 14 – 21 days.
Vaccinated piglets become actively immune in 14 days after revaccination, which lasts for 6 months. The vaccine contains inactivated bacteria and toxins that gradually absorb from the site of application.
Existing acute or febrile illness.
Method of administration:
Immunization of piglets: vaccinate piglets with the dose of 1.0 ml i.m.
- Primovaccination: from 6 weeks of age
- Revaccination: 2-3 weeks later
Immunization of sows: vaccinate sows with the dose of 1.0 ml i.m.
- Initial vaccination: 6 - 4 weeks before delivery.
- Vaccination in 2-3 weeks, but not later than 2 weeks before delivery.
- Further revaccinations: regularly 3 to 2 weeks before every next delivery.
If the period between two deliveries exceeds 8 months, another initial vaccination and revaccination will be necessary.
Route of administration: intramuscularly, preferably into the paraauricular area.
Slight apathy and somnolence may occur following application, which will die away in several hours. Small isolated fibrous nidae at the site of injection may occur in the muscle. When examining the meat of slaughtered pigs, the altered tissue must be removed.
