Bioveta – the partner of 23rd Central European Buiatric Congress The Czech Buiatric Society, in cooperation with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Veterinary Sciences Brno, held the 23rd International Veterinary Conference. Central European Buiatric Congress. Bioveta was a partner of this exceptional event, attended by veterinarians and scientists from all over Europe.

The congress took place at a time of University of Veterinary Sciences Brno commemorating its 105th anniversary. As in previous years, the congress was a platform for meetings of research, pedagogical and practicing veterinary practitioners dealing with ruminant health and well-being.

Issues of health, production, reproduction, and animal welfare were addressed in the expert sections. We are pleased to say that this congress was attended by veterinarians not only from Central European countries. Brno was visited by 260 delegates and students from 25 countries around the world. The congress also included a workshop on goat health management. Nine keynote speakers, including Prof. Munash Chigerwe from the USA, dealt with the issue of diseases in calves, infectious diseases, mastitis and metabolic disorders. Other interesting chapters were current news in the field of reproduction, surgery, diseases and ruminant welfare.

The introductory lectures were followed by 57 short messages, 49 presentations were presented in the form of posters. The congress included also a student section where master's and doctoral students presented the results of their creative activities.

The last day of the congress was dedicated to the social program, which included a visit to the Veterinary University in Brno, the G. Mendel Museum, the Starobrno Brewery and Špilberk Castle.
