The destination of our next event this year was once again the traditional venue – the Pod Mlýnem guesthouse in Sedlec near Mikulov.
After the opening welcome and a professional discussion with clients on the future direction of Bioveta’s research and development, as well as overall satisfaction, Martin Vodinský introduced the program for the following two days. This time, participants were divided into two main groups. The first group consisted of cyclists and hikers, who took advantage of the attractive surroundings to visit the Lednice–Valtice Cultural Landscape, the Pálava region, and nearby towns such as Valtice and Mikulov.
The second group included fishing enthusiasts, who came to test their skills in catching trophy-sized fish. From the early morning hours, competitors selected prime fishing spots, which they prepared using secret bait mixtures to attract fish. The sunny weather contributed to a pleasant atmosphere, along with tasty refreshments served in a gazebo by the pond.
All participants were pleasantly surprised by a visit from the Chairman of the Board and CEO of Bioveta, Ing. Libor Bittner, CSc., and his wife. He engaged in discussions with veterinary colleagues about potential opportunities to better meet the needs of veterinary specialists.
Although the sun was shining, the fish were not particularly active. Nevertheless, the most successful participants managed to catch up to 10 carps, with the largest reaching nearly one meter in length. After the fishing session, the main attraction was a roast pig tasting, followed by announcement of winners.
The largest fish of the day – a 101 cm carp – was caught by MVDr. Jiří Homolka, while the highest total length of fish caught was achieved by MVDr. Tomáš Vrbka. Congratulations to both winners!
All participants agreed that the event was not about winning, but about actively relaxing, meeting colleagues, exchanging professional experience, and enjoying time with their partners. Given the positive feedback on the Pod Mlýnem pond, we are pleased to invite you to the same event on April 23–25, 2027. See you next year!
