Inactivated vaccine against porcine erysipelas

Composition - 1 ml:
Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae inact. (3 strains - type 2, 1 strain - type 1) - min. 1 x 1010, nutrimentum ad cultivationem, emulsio olei, formalin, merthiolate.
After administration of the vaccine antigen into the animal body, specific antibodies are created which then protect the immunized animal against erysipelas. Immunity is fully developed 21 days after the vaccination.
For immunization of pigs against erysipelas.
Avoid vaccination of pigs with clinical symptoms of the disease, sows 2 weeks before and 4 weeks after farrowing and piglets less than 8 weeks of age.
The vaccine may be applied simultaneously with PLEUROSIN inj. vaccine.
Method of administration:
2 ml subcutaneously.
The first vaccination:
- pigs over 8 weeks of age.
- another vaccination and revaccination always after 6 months.
Temporary increase in temperature accompanied by reduced food intake and somnolence may occur 2 - 4 hours after vaccination. These symptoms pass off within 24 - 36 hrs. Local reaction may occur in the point of administration, which disappears within 2 - 3 weeks.
Shake the contents of the vial well before use.
Small fibrous nodes in the muscle may sporadically occur in the point of application. This altered tissue has to be removed when inspecting meat of slaughtered pigs.
Keep in a dry and dark place at of 2 to 8 °C. Do not freeze! The preparation should not be used after the expiry date marked on the label.
