Composition - 1 ml:
- Tylosinum (ut Tylosini tartras) 200 mg
- Alcohol benzylicus
- Aqua pro injectione
Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic produced by a strain of Streptomyces fradiae. Tylosin affects inhibitivelly the synthesis of micro-organisms proteins. Tylosin in concentration of 16 µg/ml or less than 16 µg/ml has an effect on some Gram+ and Gram- bacteria. Pasteurella spp. and Mycoplasma spp. belong among sensitive micro-organisms.
In all species, tylosin reaches maximal blood concentration between one and four hours after an oral dose. Minimal or no blood levels remain 24 hours after an oral dose. Studies in dogs show that tylosine is largely absorbed in the duodenum and inactivation takes place in the stomach. Following oral, intravenous and intramuscular administration, tylosin is found in a variety of tissues and the high tylosin concentrations in lung compared to those in plasma immediately following the dose show that tylosin is rapidly distributed. Effective concentration in blood of pigs is reached between 30 min. and 2 hours after administration and the substance is distributed in the organism into all organs and tissues except brain and spinal cord.
From the clinical point of view, a significant concentration of tylosine is in the lungs (especially in pulmonary macrophages), mammary gland and skin.
Tylosine is excreted in urine and bile.
Infectious diseases of respiratory tract, gastrointestinal and urogenital tract, infection of derm and tissue due to bacteria sensitive to tylosin.
Hypersensitivity to content substance.
Peniciline, aminoglykoside and lincosamide are possible antagonists.
Soution for injection
Method of administration:
For deep intramuscular administration.
- Ruminants: 1 x per day for period of 5 - 7 days
- Pigs: 1 x per day for period max. 5 days.
If desirable, the daily dose can be applicated separatedly in interval of 12 hours.
- Adult cattle: 30 ml/400 kg of live weight
- Calves: 3 ml/40 kg of live weight
- Adult pigs: 3 ml/40 kg of live weight
- Piglets: 0,75 ml/10 kg of live weight
Local exacerbation and pain at insertion spot can occur rarely. Allergic response occurs only rarely. Erythema, pruritus, or swelling of rectal mucosa in pigs can be scarcely observed.
It cannot be mixed with other solutions in one syringe. It can cause precipitation of active ingredients.
Keep out of the reach of children. Store at temperature below 25 ºC. Keep the vial in a box, protected against light. Keep the product in a refrigerator after first opening (2 – 8 °C).
Porcine meat: 21 days.
Cattle meat: 28 days.
Milk: 9 milking
12 months, 7 days after the first opening.
Special Precautions for Disposal of Unused Product or Waste Materials:
Disposal of packaging and any unused preparation has to be carried out as per applicable regulations.
