KOLIBIN RC Neo, injection suspension for cattle
Vaccine against rota-, corona- and coli- infections in newborn calves, inactivated
|type of preparative:||Vaccines|
|target species animals:||Cattle|
The vaccination dose 2 ml contains:
Rotavirus bovinum inact. at least 105 TCID50 before inactivation
Coronavirus bovinum inact. at least 105 TCID50 before inactivation 3 serovars of inactivated enteropathogenic.
E. coli strains - O8:K35, K99; O9:K35, K99; O101:K30, K99 at least 1.71 x 109CFU before inactivation
- Oil adjuvant ad 2 ml
- Thiomersalum 0.01 %
- Formaldehydi solutio 35% 0.19 %
Vaccination of pregnant heifers and cows induces formation of the specific colostric antibodies against both the viral and bacterial antigens included in the vaccine (bovine rotavirus, bovine coronavirus and 3 serovars of the inactivated enteropathogenic E. coli strains - O8:K35, K99; O9:K35, K99; O101:K30, K99).
The calves fed from mothers are protected via the colostric and lactogenic way against the infection during the first two up to four weeks of life. In calves fed with colostrum collected from the vaccinated cows, their passive protection begins when feeding with colostrum starts and it lasts until feeding with colostrum is interrupted.
Vaccination of the pregnant breeding animals against gastroenteric diseases in calves induced by rotaviruses, coronaviruses and enteropathogenic E. coli.
Animals suffering from any acute feverish disease shall not be vaccinated.
Method of administration:
- Vaccination dose - 2 ml
- Immunity inducing: The pregnant heifers (or still unvaccinated cows) are vaccinated twice at the interval of 21 days, namely, 7 - 5 weeks and 4 - 2 weeks before the first expected calving.
- The next vaccinations are performed once, namely, before each next calving.
- The vaccine is administered intramuscularly - preferably at gluteal region.
Feeding with Colostrum:
In order to ensure the effective prevention of calves against infection, the gastrointestinal tract of calves shall be saturated with colostrum obtained from the vaccinated cows for the first 2 - 3 weeks of their life. A calf shall drink the adequate colostrum volume obtained from the vaccinated cows within 6 hours after its birth.
Taking into account that a calf is not fed with its mother, colostrum (and later milk) should be collected from the vaccinated cows during the first 6 - 8 milking; the colostrum and milk obtained as above should be stored either frozen or (for not later than 14 days) chilled to the temperature between 2 °C and 8 °C. The daily dose of colostrum (and, later, milk) for a calf is 2.5 - 3.5 l daily for at least the first two weeks of life. The optimum protection of calves against the infection can be reached using the method as mentioned above if all cows in the herd are vaccinated.
Advice on correct administration:
The vaccine is administered intramuscularly - preferably at gluteal region.
All breeding animals in the stock should be vaccinated, and the adequate colostrum volume shall be administered to calves not later than 6 hours after their calving.
Warm the vaccine to the temperature between 15 °C - 25 °C and shake the content of the vial before use.
To the user:
This product contains mineral oil. Accidental injection/self injection may result in severe pain
and swelling, particularly if injected into a joint or finger, and in rare cases could result in the loss of the affected finger if prompt medical attention is not given.
If you are accidentally injected with this product, seek prompt medical advice even if only a
very small amount is injected and take the package insert with you.
If pain persists for more than 12 hours after medical examination, seek medical advice again.
To the physician:
This product contains mineral oil. Even if small amounts have been injected, accidental injection with this product can cause intense swelling, which may, for example, result in ischaemic necrosis and even the loss of a digit. Prompt surgical attention is required and may necessitate early incision and irrigation of the injected area, especially where there is involvement of finger pulp or tendon.
Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Store in dry and dark place under a temperature of 2 - 8 °C.
Without withdrawal period.
