STATEMENT OF ACTIVE AND OTHER SUBSTANCES
Composition - 0.5 ml (1 dose):
Active substance:
Calicivirus septicemiae haemorrhagiae cuniculi inactivatum, type 2 (RHDV 2) min. 80*
* Titre of hemagglutination inhibition antibodies after administration of the vaccine to laboratory animals (rabbit)
Adjuvant:
Hydrated aluminium hydroxide for adsorption 2% 0.1 ml
Excipients:
Thiomersal 0.05 mg
INDICATIONS
For active immunisation of rabbits without maternal antibodies from 4 weeks of age to prevent mortality caused by a rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus type 2 (RHDV2).
Onset of immunity: 7 days after vaccination
Duration of immunity: 6 months after vaccination
CONTRAINDICATIONS
None.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
None observed.
If you notice any serious effects or other effects not mentioned in this leaflet, or if you think that the drug has no effect, please inform your veterinary surgeon.
TARGET SPECIES
Rabbits.
DOSAGE FOR EACH SPECIES, ROUTE AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Vaccine dose - always 1 dose (0.5 ml) is administered subcutaneously.
Animals are vaccinated from 4 weeks of age.
Revaccination: at 6-month intervals.

For rabbits from mothers vaccinated against RHDV2, or when the mothers' immune status is unknown, the vaccination schedule should be adjusted at the discretion of the veterinarian, also differently than outlined in the proposed schedule, to take into account possible maternal antibody interference with vaccination. If there is a high myxomatosis infection pressure, it is recommended to vaccinate against myxomatosis as early as 4 weeks of age.
ADVICE ON CORRECT ADMINISTRATION
Shake the vial contents before administration.
Do not use Pestorin RHDV 2 suspension for injection for rabbits if you notice visible signs of deterioration of the primary packaging.
WITHDRAWAL PERIODS
Not applicable.
SPECIAL STORAGE PRECAUTIONS
Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Store and transport refrigerated (2 °C – 8 °C).
Protect from frost.
Protect from light.
Do not use this veterinary medicinal product after the expiry date which is stated on the label.
Shelf life after first opening the immediate packaging: 10 hours.
SPECIAL WARNINGS
Special warnings for each target species:
Maternal antibodies have a negative effect on the efficacy of vaccination. Where maternal antibodies are expected, the vaccination schedule should be adjusted accordingly.
Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals:
In case of accidental self-injection seek medical advice immediately and show the package leaflet or label to a practitioner.
Pregnancy:
The product can be used during pregnancy. It is not recommended to vaccinate does in the last week of pregnancy for the possibility of abortion by insensitive fixation.
Lactation:
Not applicable.
Incompatibilities:
Do not mix with other veterinary medicinal products.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction:
The available data on safety and efficacy demonstrate that Pestorin RHDV2 can be administered on the same day, but should not be mixed with the vaccine Myxoren against myxomatosis. The vaccines must be administered into different sites.
A decision to use this vaccine before or after any other veterinary medicinal product needs to be decided on a case by case basis.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR THE DISPOSAL OF UNUSED PRODUCT OR WASTE MATERIALS, IF ANY
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste.
Ask your veterinary surgeon how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures should help to protect the environment.
